Detached Youth Work

As well as our mobile youth provision, the Space Bus, our team of experienced youth workers work on the ground, engaging with young people in the town centre and communities, right where they are.

Working in partnership with the Police, Town Centre retailers and the Burnley Town Centre BID Team, we help to identify areas that are experiencing issues with ASB. We then visit these areas, engaging directly with those young people, finding out the issues that are affecting them and signposting to relevant services.

As well as our evening provision, we have been asked by the Police & Burnley Town Centre BID Team to support retailers on the market hall during peak lunchtime hours, again engaging with young people to tackle ASB - we currently have a stall set up there, working with other local partnerships to provide a continuous service and presence throughout the week.
