Space Youth Bus

The Space Bus launched in 2007, and has been serving the young people of Burnley as a free, open access youth provision for 16 years.

A specially converted double decker bus, Space is equipped with games consoles, computers, TVs, as well as sports equipment and educational resources. Our experienced youth workers are always available to support with a range of issues, engaging young people in workshops such as: healthy relationships, anti-social behaviour, drugs, sexual health, aspirations, resilience, and many more. We also signpost to relevant services, and have welcomed many onboard to engage with the young people directly, such as the Police, Fire service, We Are With You & Brighter Lives North West. Over 16 years, we have had thousands of young people on board, building relationships that have spanned many years and provided continuous support from childhood into young adulthood.

This project is nearing its end in summer 2023 due to a lack of available funding to continue. However, we want to celebrate all that the bus has achieved over the years, and the long-lasting impact it has had on the young people in our town. Watch this space as we evolve the project into something new.
