5th June 2025Change Makers’ Summer Recap
11th September 2025'Flight Night' Fundraising Event
On 26th June we headed to Impact Conferencing for a charity darts night in aid of ourselves & Pendleside Hospice, organised by Burnley Bondholders' current Future Leaders cohort.
The Future Leaders did a fantastic job of organising & setting up the event, with support & generous sponsorship from many Burnley businesses including VEKA, Financial Affairs, Seriun, Haffners Eats & with Cockers Sports providing the professional dart boards. We took along our staff, members of the board & Change Makers (and Squeaky Steve, of course) & all enjoyed being part of the event.
3 of our Change Makers took part in the darts competition, with Emme & Jorja (pictured in the glow stick glasses) forming a team and Harvey joining forces with our chair of the board, Carole Garrett. Sadly Emme & Jorja were knocked out in their first round but Harvey 'The Hurricane' & Carole 'The Crusher' made it through to the semi finals, knocking out Team Burnley Council on the way!
The room was laid out in a beer hall style, with long tables & a pop up bar. Haffners provided their famous pies & Cherry Tree Bakery donated some of their delicious bakes for dessert. West Riding Colne parked up one of their new Hyundais outside too - it was very cool to see our logo on the side!
The night was a great success in achieving its aim of raising money, and we are excited to share the final figure when we are able to. As a small, non-profit organisation, we feel really privileged to be recognised & selected to benefit from the funds raised and send our heartfelt thanks to the Future Leaders for all their efforts.
